The Groovin‘ High Quartet was formed  not far from Nuremberg in 2006. Four musicians who had known each other for a long time, got together to play some fine jazz, just for fun. Four men with different experiences and biographies in music.
It isn’t where you came from; it’s where you’re going that counts.
And it became more than that. Soon after the first successful concerts, the Groovin‘ High Quartet began to cooperate with guest musicians on various instruments; well-known soloists as well as newcomers. And time and again with male and female singers.
Jazz always has to create something new.
Since 2010 there is – besides the modern jazz program – the line-up Pete Stanley and the Groovin‘ High Quartet. A show of groove and soul was born with the clear and hypnotic voice of this singer from Birmingham (UK). One year later the quartet met Reginald O. Williams from Chicago with his deep-black and swinging voice. Another successful cooperation.
From 2013 onwards, the GHQ and both singers have been performing together as 'The Groovin‘ High Sixpack'. A modern jazz band and two outstanding singers with their grooving and swinging songs.  With great pleasure, little respect and a twinkle in their eyes, the band pays homage to the legendary Ratpack-Shows with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. und Dean Martin in 1960's Las Vegas!
